General Assistance (GA) Program Caseload Triples After PILP Demands Yuba County Remove Illegal Eligibility Hurdles (2015)

In 2015, PILP and California Rural Legal Assistance demanded that Yuba County cease its unlawful administration of its General Assistance (GA) program, which imposed eligibility hurdles so extensive that the County approved only one or two people out of every 35 to 50 applications for assistance each month. As a result of PILP’s advocacy, the County adopted new GA regulations and the GA caseload tripled in Yuba County.
